Natural family photos from the comfort of your garden.

Natural family photos from the comfort of your garden.

After a year in and out of lockdown most home gardens are in the best shape they have ever been in! There is a sense that our home and garden became our safe place in 2020/2021 and with that in mind why not celebrate it.

After a year of staying at home it is nice to photograph your family in what became your safe place during the Covid -19 restrictions.

  • Everyone is at ease in their own home and kids (of all ages) will feel that they are in charge of the photoshoot, this gives them confidence and a sense of involvement. Choosing where to have their photo taken makes kids feel important, listened to and mostly in charge - and what kids doesn’t like to be in charge!

  • Babies can have all their favourite toys, books, play mats etc which will allow me to take photos of them without you having to pack up a diaper bag. I also have a large posing bean bag which I can bring for newborns - please not I take relaxed, natural lifestyle newborn images, note posed in tight swaddles.

  • While everyone is at ease at home it can sometimes be harder to get natural photos because there is a lesser sense of wonder. So generally the photos from gardens are more posed. This doesn’t mean studio posed fakes smiles, but it does mean sitting together or standing together. If this is not for you then I would advise looking at parks, woods or beach locations. All locations are detailed below in related blogs.

  • While there is no rush to see something new kids are usually happy to remain still for longer, which allows me to take some close up portraits of them individually .

  • As you are at home all the family Pets can be part of this photoshoot!

Kids can decide where they want to be photographed, allowing them a sense of control over the photoshoot.
