So you have found the photographer you want to take some beautiful family photos (thank you!), but you like all the styles of images and can’t decide what is the best location for you. Follow my series of blogs on how to choose your perfect location.

Living on the Atlantic coast the beach is an integral part of most peoples lives and family days out usually involve coming home with sandy toes. But is it right for you?
Salty kisses and sandy toes! Is a beach photoshoot right for you?
The beach is perfect for all ages and once you kick off your shoes (essential) you will get beautiful relaxed images.
Babies and Toddlers will be able to wander about without the fear of them hurting themselves if they fall - but if they are right in the middle of exploring the world with their mouth there may be a lot of sand eaten! Babies can be posed on a blanket or having their toes dipped in the water.
The beach is a constant source of exploration for younger kids so you will get lots of unposed images where they are busy searching for crabs, collecting shells or splashing in the water - it is the perfect place to photograph them at play.
Tweens and Teens can use a beach location to climb rocks, dunes and swim in the sea - I have no problem getting into the water to get some images of them in the water.
Pets this is the perfect location to include your family dog and will bring a new dimension to your family photos. Other pets may not be so easily included here.
Couples The beach is romantic and dramatic. Walking in the water’s edge or sharing a picnic in a sand dune during the suns golden hour can create the most beautiful photos. Perfect for an engagement or maternity shoot.
