Faces of Galway 42/100

Meet Aidan from Galway.

Aidan has a dual life. Monday to Friday he works managing an administrative team for the Road Safety Authority. At the weekend he works as an impersonator in front of hundreds and thousands of people. It all started at a young age when Aidan would impersonate people he heard. Nothing professional would have come of it if it wasn't for his brother, who advised him to get into a recording studio and record his "voices". Aidan sent off, what he describes as quite a raw recording, to Ollie Turner at Galway Bay FM. Before he knew it he was getting airtime. Calls started coming in for weddings, sports and business conferences, and his YouTube videos started to get thousands of views.

Aidan has now become a familiar face after featuring on RTE's Off the Ball. His skill at impersonating famous GAA people has those (me) who don't even know them still laughing. His role is not just to impersonate but to also provide some comedy. Aidan is keen to make sure that he doesn't offend; like the days when he was doing voices for the "craic" he just wants to have a bit of fun with it rather then upset people.

It isn't just GAA stars in his repertoire, Aidan surprised the 80,000 plus crowd attending the Hurling All-Ireland Final, by bringing Brain O Driscoll to Croke Park. The first voices he started doing were of Chris Eubank and Mick McCarthy and one of Aidan's first YouTube hits features everyone's favourite voice, Morgan Freeman.  Using the movie, the Shawshank Redemption, he discusses in depth a truly Irish topic; a new road. In a hilarious parody Aidan uses Morgan as his voice to discuss at length the impact of this new motorway from Tuam to Gort. Have a listen here

When speaking with Aidan he drifts in and out of voices with ease, making a conversation both fun and unpredictable! Why don't you visit his page to check more of his work and follow his blossoming career.
