Faces of Galway 72/100
Meet Katelyn from the Claddagh.
"Somedays I wake up and want blue hair". This is Katelyn. A very relaxed and free spirited person. She keeps trying to fit into what is deemed as "normal" but struggles to complete the task. After two years studying an Arts degree at NUIG, Katelyn decided that it wasn't for her and she needed to finish up. She has an interest in art, particularly animation, and would like to pursue it in the future. For now she is enjoying working full time in a Galway supermarket.
Katelyn spent her younger years living with her Grandmother and mother. She has a very close relationship with them both and her mother is a constant guide in what she does. Her birth father was of African descent but she never really go to know him. While Katelyn has a distinct African appearance that is as far as the African connection goes. Her step dad is from South Korea and through him Katelyn has an interest in Asian culture and Japanese animation. Katelyn dreams of visiting Seoul, South Korea this year. We hope that dream comes through!
