Meet Jin, the Korean man from China

Despite being born and growing up in China, Jin is still not Chinese. As his parents are Korean, Jin grew up within a tight knit Korean community where they lived with slightly different laws to those of their Chinese neighbours. For example his parents did not have to adhere to the strict one child policy. The Korean values which were instilled in his warm and friendly character, also extend to business. With every sale Jin always gives something extra to the customer. This, and the quality of his work, ensures customers return to him on a frequent basis.

Jin is now based in Galway but has lived and worked, as an artist, in Shangai and Dublin. Busy city life was full of opportunities, social outings, exhibitions, and meetings. He was constantly inspired and found he worked at every opportunity he could. Long days and nights led to multiple collections and exhibitions which in turn, led to success. But this pace could only be sustained for so long and Jin decided to make a move to Galway.

He now lives a life where family is the core. He still admits to working too long into the night and even recently was involved in four different exhibitions in two days, but his pace has changed. He paints around family life. He finds he takes more time and is producing better quality work.

While Jin has a variety of paintings, from celebrities to landscapes, his passion is in painting wildlife. His collection ranges from owls to tigers and each piece is bright and beautiful while also having a dark core. I get the impression that this is how Jin sees the world. A place where there is so much sorrow and destruction he wants to put a colourful front to it to help spread some happiness.

To see some of Jim's work in the flesh why don't you pop along to the exhibition at the Royal Villa Salthill on November 3rd? If you are attending the RDS Art Source 2016 from November 11th - 13th, you'll see on of Jin's paintings on the ticket! If you can't get to meet him in person why don't you follow Jin on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to keep up to date on his upcoming events. Jin Yong Art is definitely one to watch!
