Meet Aisling from Celbridge
In a world where anything is possible lives Aisling Nolan. As Alumni Relations Officer for NUI Galway she focuses on developing the Alumni community both in Galway, Ireland and Worldwide. As a recent graduate Aisling understands how important it is for graduates to know that no matter where they go in their lives and careers, NUIG will always be there to connect them. As a former graduate myself it was a pleasure to spend a sunny hour in the quad getting to know this motivated and personable young lady.
Aisling originally started her university career training in midwifery and after a year she realised it wasn't for her and made the change to Irish Studies at NUIG. She then moved to Queens in Belfast to complete a Masters in Social Anthropology where she focused on community formation and identity. After a short time living in Prague Aisling wound up back in Galway where she loves the small town feel.
By accident Aisling has become quite the Instagram hit (follow her here) and woke up one morning with 1,000 new followers. She sees it as an opportunity for something big and has some exciting plans for her future. I don't really meet too many people who make me believe anything is possible but after spending an hour with Aisling I came away with a renewed sense of possibility; there seems to be no limitations to what can be achieved.
So we will start the weekend with a quote directly from Aisling's Instagram account
"Ten years from now, make sure you can say that you chose your life, you didn't settle for it."
Happy weekend!
