Meet Seán T from Galway.

Seán lived in the idyllic and remote beachside town of Naran, Donegal until he was eight years old. A move to Galway resulted in him attending an all-Irish speaking primary school. For Seán, who now works as an actor in a lot of Irish speaking productions, this was the start of the beginning. Seán attended the Bish Secondary school in Nun's Island right beside the Nun's Island Theatre where the Galway Youth Theatre met. Sean decided to attend NUIG and to study a degree in Engineering. The engineering building was also in Nun's Island and by the end of his first year he was a member of the Galway Youth Theatre. After landing a role in Ros na Rún his passion for acting started to take over, but he continued with his studies and obtained his degree.

In the last ten years Sean has worked along side Colm Meaney in Kings, was nominated for an IFTA for his supporting role in The Callback Queen and played the role of Prudentius in the fourth series of Vikings. Alongside a list of roles in RTE and TG4 TV series Seán, played one of the lead roles in the award winning An Klondike. He also appeared as Sean Mac Diarmada, one of the seven signatories of the Proclamation of Irish Independence in the TV Mini Series, 1916: Seachtar na Casca. As we chat outside the Nun's Theatre Seán is constantly greeted by people, it is obvious he is a popular man, and is very happy to chat to everyone.

With a passion for photography Seán has found himself taking stills on many sets, but his involvement behind camera doesn't end there. He is now listed as a writer on TV series such a Ros na Rún, The Field and Scéal and has written and directed his own documentary Breith agus Bás. The documentary was one of his most challenging roles as it told the story of his own family history and the connection they had to the Irish Civil War. A story of a family who took over the local post office resulting in curses, supernatural sightings, parental loss, executions, and the tension and tragedy of war. Thankfully Seán's most critical audience, his family, approved of the documentary and it was aired in 2012.
