Meet Sinéad from Castleplunkett

A former banker turned blogger; meet the lady who changed her career by starting the successful "Yummy Mummy" fashion and lifestyle blog. After getting three kids out the door to school or crèche Sinéad used to head to work in her high heels and well manicured hair and make up. She has always loved fashion and never wanted to let a hectic lifestyle get in the way of her looking good. As well as having an honours degree in Financial Services she also is a qualified beauty therapist. Her colleagues soon gave her the name "yummy mummy". Sinéad enjoyed her job but wanted a creative outlet from her banking role; she decided to start a blog. With no experience she went to the internet and learnt all she would need to know about blogging. She then attended events to learn all she would need to know about marketing. It worked and in 2015 she was a finalist in two categories of the OMiG Awards.

This is a lady who has no ceiling on what she can achieve and works to make sure she can obtain it. Noticing there was no collective network for Irish bloggers she founded The West Blogger Network. Through this she aims to support Irish bloggers to turn their passion into a career.

It wasn't all plain sailing. After the economic crash Sinéad found herself dealing with property repossessions. It was emotionally draining. On top of that, her children were now in full time care or school and on days when they got sick it was a struggle to leave work and care for them. Something needed to change. When word spread that redundancies were happening it was a bitter sweet moment for Sinéad. Years of dedicated work with the bank was over, but it was the lifestyle change she needed. Like everything else in life Sinéad seized the opportunity to change her work life balance. She set up her company Mini Media with the aim of working while the kids were at school. After retraining in website creation and design Sinéad now offers clients a one stop shop for their business. She creates websites, offers rebrands and helps with online marketing. Already the accolades are starting to stack up!
