2020 - A year in review - Part Two

Mouthwatering pizza from The Twelve Hotel

As 2020 brought limited social interactions all of my family and branding work had to be postponed or unfortunately cancelled. We went from Stay at Home to Stay Local from March until the end of June. I had to reassess what photography I could offer to allow me to work as the restrictions eased.

My local hotel, The Twelve Hotel, had been adapting very quickly and offered a range of take away options in the form of a drive through. I reached out to them to see if I could photograph some of their menu, and this was the start of me working as a food photographer. With the possibility to maintain “Social Distance” a term I couldn’t have even dreamed of last year, and wearing a mask I felt like this was a safe form of photography to undertake.

An even safer form of photography came when I was approached to photograph products. Clients would send me their products and I would photograph them either on location or in my own new home studio. It was nice to be able to work once again without increasing my close contacts, which, for the majority of the year were just my own household.
